OST format is currently developing the audio walk ‘MARZAHN. back to future?’. In several short chapters, it deals with the origins, transformation and potential of the large housing estate Berlin Marzahn with a view to the tense housing situation in Berlin today.

On 1 October 2025, Theater der Zeit published a report by Lara Wenzel about OST format and the premiere of the radio play ‘Prozess im Theater’ (Trial in the Theatre) on Dessau's Friedensplatz.
 

‚The communist promise cannot be saved in the present without coming to terms with the Stalinist terror that was committed in its name. In its artistic work on (post)socialist pasts and futures, OST format follows this claim. Using auditory and performative elements, they pierce through the historical layers of public spaces and architecture, performing in the large housing estates of Halle-Neustadt, Marzahn and the Dessau Theatre, and countering the right-wing appropriation of GDR history with their own narratives. They reveal how the radical desire for freedom from domination could lead to terror, without rejecting this dream. ‘
